Meet Dr. Miranda Imrie

Dr. Miranda Imrie grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and knew from the age of five that she wanted to become a veterinarian. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota and went on to earn her veterinary degree from Colorado State University. After practicing small animal medicine in Colorado Springs, she returned to Minnesota in 2021 to live and work in the Duluth area, a region she has always loved.

With more than 15 years in general practice and a strong focus on internal medicine, Dr. Imrie found her passion in diagnostic ultrasound. She appreciates how imaging can help guide treatment plans, provide answers quickly, and reduce stress for both pet owners and veterinary teams.

At home, Dr. Imrie enjoys spending time with her two children, her dog Jesse, and her cat Bret Favre. She is proud to support local clinics with a service that combines clinical insight, accessibility, and respect for the bond between pet owners and their veterinary teams.

Credentials and Training Highlights

Dr. Imrie has pursued extensive continuing education in small animal ultrasound with a focus on image quality, case relevance, and diagnostic accuracy. Her training includes both foundational courses and advanced programs that require case submission and formal evaluation.

Sound Soft Tissue Imaging Program (February to August 2025)

An advanced, case-based course requiring submission of clinical ultrasound scans for instructor review and grading. Dr. Imrie earned a certificate of completion after meeting the program’s standards for diagnostic image quality and technique.

Sound Soft Tissue Diagnostics: Intermediate (September 2024)

Focused on intermediate-level soft tissue imaging, this program builds on scanning technique and interpretation skills for common diagnostic challenges.

Universal Imaging Small Animal Ultrasound Diagnostics: Basic and Intermediate Abdominal (January 2023)

Comprehensive abdominal ultrasound training covering anatomy, image acquisition, interpretation, and clinical applications for dogs and cats.

Intermediate Ultrasound Webinar Series (December 2022)

A virtual, case-driven series designed to sharpen image interpretation and clinical decision-making in general and internal medicine cases.

Sound Virtual Webinar: Ultrasound-Guided Sampling (October 2022)

Practical instruction on safely and effectively performing ultrasound-guided needle aspirates for organs such as the liver and spleen.

Universal Imaging Small Animal Ultrasound Diagnostics: Basic Cardiac (June 2021)

Training in echocardiography fundamentals including key views, basic measurements, and identification of common abnormalities.

Universal Imaging Basic Abdominal Ultrasound (September 2018)

Foundational instruction in scanning technique, anatomy, and diagnostic use of abdominal ultrasound in small animal practice.

This training supports Dr. Imrie’s commitment to offering high-quality, clinically useful imaging to the veterinary teams she partners with.
